Greetings Brethren:

The critique rendered by the FreedomJournal upon the Christian Church has tremendous and insurmountable importance toward the Liberation and Freedom for the Black community. The benefits of this critique have nothing to do with one's religious affiliation. Nor is this critique hinged on one's particular political viewpoints.

The simple fact is that Christianity has had a Great Impact on Black people in America, Africa and throughout the world. Therefore, a clear understanding of Christianity is essential toward the quest for Freedom, Justice and Equality of the Black masses.

Meanwhile, the naysayer not so much in the Jewish communities or Muslim communities but in the ranks of the Cultural Nationalists and the various advocates of African Religions cry foul. Here we see that Black Extremists in respect to Culture and Religion denounce all things that they consider European. However, neither Christianity nor Judaism is European. Also it can be argued that Islam also was not established by traditional Europeans.

Therefore for anyone to deny the HISTORICAL IMPORTANCE OF CHRISTIANITY WITH RESPECT TO BLACK PEOPLE IS A FOOL. Truth-seekers that accept Christianity as part of the equation toward an analysis of the Black Experience do not have to be Christian. Nor do they have to embrace Christianity. Also for one to assume that one that writes about Christian principles, values and Scripture is trying to convert someone is also of a shallow mind. Enough said the Word will convict the unrighteous. Thus, many are AFRAID OF THE WORD AND RUN AND HIDE.

The Miracle of Healing
Part 71: Paul Had The Power To Lay Hands of Healing (Acts 9:12, 17, Also see acts 28:8, Matt.9: 18, Mark 5:23).

In The Name of Jehovah God, Master of the Universe, Ruler of the Earth.

Jesus Christ is the only person in the Bible that did more to establish the Church than the Apostle Paul. We will continue our discussion of laying on hands and healing. The Holy Spirit is also an integral part of the equation. However our important point is that the power of healing through the laying on of hands was a temporal factor of the early Church. Thus, before the New Testament was written Almighty God granted certain Spiritual Powers to His Apostles and Disciples.

As we turn to the Book of Acts and the 9th chapter we see some of the most inspiring scripture in the Bible. Paul is converted on the way to Damascus Acts 9:1-19. The Bible tells us that Paul who was once Saul had persecuted the Jews that embraced the teachings of Jesus Christ. The Chief Priests had sanctioned his actions. But on the way to capture and persecute Christians a great thing happened.

In the third verse (Acts 9:3) as he reached Damascus a light shined on him from heaven verse four tells us that he fell to the ground. And a voice said why do you persecute me?

Acts 9: 5. "And he said, who art thou, Lord? And the Lord saith, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks."

Acts 9:6. And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what will thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do."

Again we implore you to realize that these were times of great miracles and displays of the awesome power of God. We do not live in these times of great Spiritual Gifts and miraculous visions. Paul had been touched by the Lord and he would soon receive the power of the Holy Spirit and gifts of healing.

For three days Paul went without food and was without sight.
Acts 9:10."And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias, and he said, Behold, I am here Lord."

The Bible reveals that any disciple has the right to tell the Good News of Jesus Christ and baptize the believers. Thus, Ananias was to do this for Saul. In verse 2 Ananias is instructed to go find Saul at the house of Judas. He is also told that Saul would be praying. God in reply to his prayer permitted him to have the vision of Ananias coming to heal his blindness.

Acts 9:12. "And he hath seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in, and putting his hand on him, that he might regain his sight."

Inspired visions are one form of predictions. God had caused Saul to see this vision. He was now sending Ananias to fulfill it for him. Again we see the phrase in reference to laying on hands "putting his hands on him." This power of healing was given to Ananias as a disciple of God and Jesus Christ. This was a significant act that was involved in the conversion of Saul.
Acts 9:15." But the Lord said unto him, go thy way; for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and bring all the children of Israel."

The Lord gave assurance to Ananias that Saul had been duly called and chosen by Him. Therefore, God would not allow any of His chosen servants to bring harm to any of His disciples.

Acts 9:17. And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hand on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost."

Acts 4:51 reveals additional scripture notes on being filled with the Holy Ghost. The measure that would allow one to be baptized with the Holy Ghost has some variation. For example the Gentiles in the house of Cornelius were baptized with the Holy Ghost (see Acts 11:15-17). However, all they could do was to speak in tongues (Acts 10:46).

Meanwhile we see a great difference in the circumstances of Saul as to the laws that were laid upon him. Ananias did not lay hands on Saul for the same purpose that the Apostles laid hands on others. The Apostles laid hands on baptized believers only. However, hands were laid on Saul before he was baptized. As with the Cornelius groups this was an emergency or special case.

God needed another Apostle. Therefore, instead of sending the Holy Ghost as it was done on Pentecost, He gave Ananias the special commission and power to install the man Saul into office.
